Changes to dealing with Covid which affect employers and apply from 24.2.22
From tomorrow, people with Covid will no longer be legally required to self-isolate (although guidance remains in place for those who test positive to stay at home and avoid contact with others for at least 5 full days).
Routine contact racing will also end and people in contact with someone with Covid will no longer be advised to self-isolate or take daily tests.
Finally, workers will no longer be required to tell their employer if they need to self-isolate.
This is potentially going to cause less disruption for employers in terms of numbers of employees self-isolating, but could cause more illness in the workplace. It is a case of “wait and see” how the new procedures will impact on workplaces.
