Minimum wage and other increases announced
From April 2023, the following new rates will apply:
- Statutory maternity, paternity, adoption, shared parental and parental bereavement pay will increase to £172.48 per week (previously £156.66).
- Statutory sick pay will increase to £109.40 per week (previously £99.35).
Minimum wage and national living wage increases from April 2023:
- 23 years+ – £10.42 (previously £9.50) an increase of 92 pence or 9.7%
- 21-22 years – £10.18 (previously £9.18) narrowing the gap with the NLW and leaving this age group on course to receive the full NLW by 2024
- 18-20 years – £7.49 (previously £6.83)
- 16-17 years – £5.28 (previously £4.81)
- Apprentices – £5.28 (previously £4.81)
